New Year's honours: 'Arise, Sir Brucie!'

Less importantly, we'll hear the New Year's honours next week and what a disgrace, what a travesty, what an embarrassment if the headlines are not saying "Arise, Sir Brucie". Actually, come to mention it, if there is any justice in the world there would be three titans of entertainment celebrated. It should be Sir Brucie (82), Sir Doddy (83) and Sir Ronnie Corbett (80). There are reports that Simon Cowell is up for a knighthood, which could very well have the Diary considering whether it's time to leave the country altogether (although given the weather, we reserve our right to stay). Merry Christmas.
